Event Details

On Monday, the Supreme Court upheld an Ohio law that allows for sweeping purges of the voter rolls. Unfortunately, this case sets a precendent that can (and almost certainly will) be used to fuel widespread voter disenfranchisement.

The NAACP is committed to countering the voter disenfranchisement that the Husted decision enables, and you can help.

In the light of this decision, it is more important than ever to:

1. Register people to vote

2. Help people check that their voter registration is accurate and up-to-date

3. Engage voters in important election issues, to increase knoweldge, enthusiasm, and turnout

On Monday, June 18th, the Boulder County NAACP will be holding it's first area Voter Registration Drive (VRD) training. If you have been looking for ways to help, this is your opportunity to join the fight for civil rights for all!

FAQs

Do I have to be a member of the NAACP to come to this training?

This event is free and open to the public. All are welcome. You do not need to be a member of the NAACP to receive the training, although you will need to join if you would like to be part of our Voter Registration Drive (VRD) team.

How can I join the NAACP?

Registration forms will be available at the training. A regular adult membership costs $30 per year. Payment by cash or check is preferred, but we will be able to accept credit card payments at the event for an added fee to cover processing costs (credit card total will be $33.72).

I have already received VRD training. Can I skip the training?

No, you must receive training specifically for any VRD with which you will be participating. This is required by the Colorado Secretary of State.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

On-street parking is available, but limited. Carpooling or public transit (the 204 and the Skip both stop within 4 blocks) are encouraged. Limited handicapped parking is available.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

It is helpful, but not necessary, to bring your printed ticket to the event.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

If you can't make it to the training, please do feel free to share your ticket with someone else who can. However, you will not be able to do VRD work until after you personally receive the training.
